Hi everyone! August is here and I think it is about time we get together again:-) Since the summer tends to be a hectic time we have chosen to meet up for another Happy Hour, since the last one was such a hit! A lot of you have sent me some great ideas for future events (see below)! I don't want anyone to miss out on these great events, so we will save them for the Fall (starting in September) when everyone's schedules are a little more open...hopefully. So, for now let's get together for some refreshment, fun, and networking at Barcelona!

Hope to see you there!

Some of the great events to look forward to this Fall:

- How a small boutique can compete with the larger agencies
- Continuing your education: resources, tips, and more
- How to effectively market yourself
- Starting/running a freelance design business (marketing, pricing, sales, client relations, networking)
- What makes a great printer. How to get the best prices and quality for your clients.
- Subcontracting: Finding the right person with the right skills to help with projects as needed

I will be in touch with those of you who helped contribute to these great event suggestions!

Any other ideas and suggestions are always welcome:-)

    •  Ok, so I am the one who picked the place, and I think i is fabulous (as a restaurant and bar), BUT I will completely admit that it was very crowded (especially for a Tuesday!) and very loud! So, I would like to apologize to those of you who came, as this was not the best venue for conversation, and ummm space to move, haha. I appreciate you all making the best of it, and I assure you that I will better investigate future venues for social events. Any suggestions are always welcome! Also, in order for us to reserve space in the future, as we did at the SBC back in March (which we had a whole upper floor of the restaurant to ourselves, own bartender, good turnout of 50+ people, etc.) we may need to start "encouraging" donations, or charging a small fee, which we have never done. I am going to run a poll and see how everyone feels about this...
    •  I liked the location, just turned out to be a busier night than one would expect.
    •  A nice meetup although a bit loud.
