Great News! Judd Dunegan, interactive marketing manager with Applica-Black & Decker will be speaking. He just returned from the Amazon conference and has been working with Web 2.0 technology as well as designing and consulting. He will tell us what he is seeing in corporate America and where things will be going online. He may even take the stage after his talk and tear it up for us as well. If you want to shoot me some questions I can get those to him and he can have some things prepared. This is going to be awesome. We will be talking about what needs to happen to make our animation festival happen too. I would also encourage people to bring work to show off, bring your portfolios and resumes to get some tips and feedback. Come one come all and talk about your area (ola) of expertise :-)

OK..Once again the MNA people have been called out of town. They will be in Venlo, Netherlands. Doh! I'm not sure when we can reschedule them again but maybe in the fall. With that being said I've moved it back to the Briny this Friday and I can talk about what's happeneing in this uncertain economic environment. I have 3 great books to give away The New Influencers, Marketer's Guide to the New Social Media; Monitoring and Managing Reputations Online; Web Design for ROI and a Flash video training CD. Also, I had dinner with the lead designer from MSN at the Cre8 Conference. He will do a demo of Silverlight for us live from London...working a day for that as well.

June: talk about some of the new technologies on the web like: Drupal, Ajax, Sharepoint and all the other things that are going on with online information and commerce. Just a thought for right now....any thoughts....anyone....anyone....Keith all I can come up with is having it here in our office here in Plantation..

I had a few speakers back out on me but I will be talking about the job market in this crazy economy so bring your questions, resumes and portfolios for any feedback. I foresee this as a roundtable type discussion so come prepared to put in your 2¢ on what you are seeing for both companies and talent.

I have Jefferson King of MNA Creative lined up to speak next month. MNA does all of Office Depot's creative from industrial design and packaging to collateral and environmental signage. He can talk about branding to anything about the creative of a major agency.

I will be attending the Cre8 conference in Orlando at the end of April. I'm going to try to get a give away from them for next month's meeting :-)

After talking with Keith, who runs a web Meetup, we've decided to have the web technology meeting in June. More on that later. So, now I'm scrambling for this month. So what we will do is try to have a planning meeting and talk about how to implement some of the ideas that are floating around right now like an animation festival, training issues etc. So come on out and have a drink and chat with me and other creatives about how to make our group even better!

Oh yeah, I've been hearing that a lot of people don't come because they can't get there on time. Doh! Don't sweat that. We'll be there till late, come when you can; we're not real formal--we're creatives :-) Plus there is always food there so don't worry about getting dinner before you come.

Job hunting for the new year? We will talk about portfolios and resumes and interviewing techniques. This will probably be more of a question and answer session with some best practices from some experts. Your input and feedback is always appreciated.

I know the weather kept a lot of people away this past month. 7 hardy individuals came out. Nobody in costume by the way so we divided up the CS3 training materials among those there. I was thinking about having our next meeting on the 16th and make it a planning meeting for next year. I would like for everybody to bring ideas for what they would like to see the group accomplish next year. I can spend December and the first part of January getting things set up and start the year with a solid agenda. I need people to get involved with the group in order for it to serve it's purpose. I am always here to talk about the creative market here in South Florida but I do need to know what you guys want to do and what sort issues we should address.
